Services I offer

• Subject research. In-depth research into specific topics; ie: locations, careers, disorders or talents. Can be as broad as a town your character grew up in or as specific as the type of guitar he first played on.
• Blurb refining. You have one chance to grab the reader’s attention. Make certain your blurb is as catchy as it can be.
• Cover Critiques. With so many choices for colors, fonts, and model poses, a critical eye helps you get exactly the look you want.
• Chapter by chapter critiquing. Tweaking your work. You have one chance to make a first impression. Whether this is with your editor, your beta team or your readers. I can help you make it the best impression. I can help define your characters and hone your story.

How I work

Even as I am critical I will never damage your self-esteem or interfere with your vision. I am here to make your job easier, to make your time better spent, and make your final product better.

Accepted submissions

• Age Categories: Young Adult, New Adult and Adult Fiction
• Genres: Romance, Bully, Reverse Harem, Sci-Fi, Urban Fantasy and Paranormal

Format

• Critique will be listed on Google Docs or  using Word’s Track Changes (Author’s preference).
• My style is to use a running commentary with concrete suggestions and personal comments to help encourage the author or to steer in a different direction.
• Specific comments on what is working and what is not with an explanation.
• Recommendations on reworking weak story elements.
• Suggestions on dialogue changes if not believable.
• Idea suggestions when needed.
• Clarification if discrepancies are noted or author research is not accurate.

I am not an editor

The purpose of my critique is to improve your story. I will identify weaknesses and help you strengthen every aspect of your story. I will help you define your characters and refine your story. I will help you shape it into the story you dreamed of. I will look at your characters and story with a critical eye and point out inconsistencies, unnecessary characters, scenes, or dialogue. I will note obvious grammar issues but I am not an editor.
